A while back, I met a super sweet American Cocker Spaniel during a very stressful event and he really helped me through it. That was probably over fifteen years ago and I hadn't thought of him much since then, but yesterday, my parents had a picture of him up on a slideshow of old pictures. That made me really want to create a spaniel breed in petz, in memory of that sweet dog. Their body, tail, and legs are Scottie. The feet are Dali. The head is Jack Russel. The ears are Poodle. Sadly, the personality is also poodle. After a LOT of testing, I'm fairly certain you can't have poodle ears without a poodle personality attached. Yes, you can have a pet that had poodle ears without a poodle personality, BUT they likely carry non-poodle ears. I mean, if anyone can prove me wrong, please do lol. I know their color isn't very original, but there's something super charming about the classic mutt colors and markings. Plus, they remind me of Lady from Lady and the Tramp.

I love how perfectly Spaniel-y it is! This is what I love about selective breeding - sure, you can download amazing looking hexed breedz, and I have zero problem with dowloading lots of breedfiles, but there's something so nice about creating the breed in game that you can then adopt out, no breedfiles required! Especially since I love a more "petzy" look on everything. So when I download extra breedz, they tend to be wildz or fantasy creatures. I like the challenge of making actual dog or cat breeds myself!
I agree that Lady was my first thought, too. Kind of a shame about the personality, but I like the Poodle personality even if it's not really what you'd expect for a Spaniel. So overall, the worst flaw is still pretty minor!

The only other pet I have with poodle ears was an adoption from leashykitty on RKC, and let me tell you, there's something going on with it!
When I open that dog in LNZ, it tells me it has a Labrador personality. When I open it in GenePoolz, both Set1 and Set2 have Poodle ears -- but Set1's personality is "Mutt" and Set2's is "Chihuahua." Not a Lab or Poodle personality in sight!
Does this make sense to you as a master breeder? I can send you a copy of that dogz's file if you'd like to have a look. You could also reach out to leashykitty. They'd put up a bunch of Poodle mixes recently that might further your research!

That's something weird that happens too!
When I was making my spaniel, I had a dog that CLEARLY had a Dali personality, BUT GenePoolz said set 1 and set 2 both were Poodle.
Plus, my Rogue Jitters clearly have Orange Shorthair personalities, but GenePoolz says they have Chinchilla Persian personalities.
I haven't checked any of them in LNZ, but I probably should when I get a chance.
